AN HISTORICAL LOOK AT GOD"S FAVORITE BAND THROUGH PICTURES.

DISCLAIMER:
I have always wanted to do something like this to not only let people know exactly how much of a roller coaster the band has been but to also pay some homage to those who have played key roles in the past. As anyone knows evey story has two, sometimes three sides and I would like to make it clear this is my side. It is the truth as I remember it and although I'm not going to avoid the negative times I am going to try to avoid any cheap shots. This is meant as a history of Chrysler not a soap box for me to get back at those from the past. I invite any former members to share any memories, good or bad, on the JC message board. If I truly made any mistakes here I will correct them. Thanks and hopefully I've represented to past accurately.

Bakko

2006

Treble, Bakko, Duffy, Knuckles.

2006 sees us coming full circle. Knuckles is back. The band is busier than ever and everything is looking good. We are excited (as always) to make the most of the ucoming year and will hopefully see you all!

2004-2005

Duffy, Dino, Bakko, Treble

When Shaggz moved back to Owatonna it became clear he couldn't make the practices anymore. In October his 6+ years with the band came to an end when he quit. Treble had played with Duffy in Distant Relatives Of God and after a few practices it was clear he was the obvious choice. Dino had been a friend of mine through the various bands he had practiced with at Kooler Sound. This was the a return to at least some consistancy within the band. The last six months of this lineup would prove to be one of the most active in the bands history up to this point. Sadly Dino pulled out of the band in early November unexpectedly and for a moment the future was in doubt. Leaving us a note. Nto returning our calls and giving us a week to figure out if we needed to cancel an upcoming show. But as we all know Knuckles saved the day again.

2004

Shaggz, Katt, Treble, Bakko

More of a hiccup in the digestive tract of JC. Katt was the end of what was an extremly rough time for JC. A lot of personal issues outside the band were taking it's toll. Katt was only in the band for one month and never set foot on stage with us. She did however leave us with a classic excuse that will no doubt go down as a keeper. We placed the ad for a bass player in the City Pages that said "COVER BAND SEEKS BASS PLAYER". When she came down to quit, she told us she didn't think we were going to be doing as many covers as we were. Nice!

2003-2004
REVV, Shaggz, Treble, Bakko

The first step towards a different direction for JC. After Goose quit they quickly recruited Treble from Distant Relatives Of God who had played with JC a few times in the previous years. 18 shows in a 9 month span ended with REVV missing Novemeber with personal issues, Treble taking December off for the birth of his first child Zander and Shaggz dissapearring for the better part of January and February. Eventually REVV left in May to join ALL THE PRETTY HORSES. And Shaggz would leave by October

2002-2003
Bakko, Shaggz, REVV, Goose

At the "Burn Out" CD release party, Goose pulled me aside and asked to be back in the band. He told me he was wrong about everything he had said in the past. He realized now that this was the band he belonged in, and so on and so on. We brought him in to see how REVV liked him. He didn't. But agreed to give it a try. During this time Gooses woman left him. He lived at our practice facility. Mooched off of myself and Shaggz. And eventually blamed me for all the things Shaggz was riding him for. I have a theory as to how or why this happened but frankly it's not important and only a theory for that matter. He left a note that said he really hoped that Shaggz and REVV could forgive him and that I could go fuck myself. About a year later he posted a message on our message board saying that in spite of what we'd been hearing (we'd been hearing nothing from or about Goose) he hadn't been talking shit about me. Kind of an odd message to leave for someone who hadn't been talking shit. Anyway I think all parties would agree that the return of Goose was a mistake. For whatever reason he just wasn't the same guy or guitar player for that matter. There was constantly problems. His car, job, woman, living quarters, his phone, rent at the space. You get the picture. He ended up leaving without paying the back rent he pwed for the rehersal space. He has since joined the local band Stigmata. I believe they have a website. I'm sure there you can find all things Goose!

2002
REVV, Bakko, Shaggz

After Goose and Knuckles quit Shaggz and I felt like continuing on was what we wanted to do. So another ad in the CIty pages and after numerous auditions we came away with REVV. This lineup was very productive and played 12 shows in a four month period as well as record the third installment of the RIDE TRILOGY. And anyone who came to the JC Pool Party knows how JC likes to kick off Summer. REVV was a true charachter. In spite of the fact he was a polar opposite of myself and ecspecially Shaggz, he was a perfect fit. He never hid his passion for all things Motorhead and you could definatley hear it in his playing. He was also the first sober member to ever share a JC stage. Around a year went by before we added a guitar player. That happened right after the Burn Out CD release party.

2000-2002

Shaggz, Bakko, Goose, Knuckles

To some this is considered the "CLASSIC" lineup of JC. The biggest waves on the original scene were made at this time. Shows at all the largest local clubs with the hot bands at the time as well as back to back years headlining the Great Southern Minnesota Farmout. As well as a CD, video shoots and live appearances on KQAL and several mentions on the 93X Half Assed Morning Show. For me this was probably the funnest time. A lot of boozing! Very little sleep. Strong unity in the band. Cracks eventually showed. Goose got a girlfriend. Then suddenly felt like he needed to be a bigger player in front of her. The band suddenly became a second option. And he no doubt suffered from the nonsense that often happens when you listen to your woman who's only true objective is to control you. "You don't need them." "You're better than them." That was definately how it came off anyway. Time would only confirm that for me. He was picking fights with me over things that guys don't fight over. He was extremely stand offish and eventually quit. When he did Knuckles didn't feel like going through the hassle of finding a new guitar player considering all we had gone through the past couple of years. Suddenly it was again me and Shaggz.

2000

Shaggz, McGilicuddy, Zax, Bakko

Knuckles quit. Then came back. Then Creeper was kicked out. Then Knuckles quit again. I had played with McGillicuddy previously in the band Bender and Zax was the winner of auditions. The name was officially changed to Jesus Chrysler with this lineup. McGillicuddy left and Zax hung on long enough to play the leads on JC's first CD. Outside of that only a few shows were played. I don't have a lot to say about this period. There were good times but if memory serves me right there was some tumultuous times also. I am still good friends with McGillicuddy and Zax pops up from time to time. I consider both to be some of the better people I have met in my life. I don't know for sure what Zax is up to but I'll bet he's playing somewhere on someones rig. A true character if you ever met him. McG bought himself a townhouse and has done various things since leaving the band.

1999-2000

Knuckles, Shaggz, Bakko

After Creeper was kicked out, we kept on as a three piece. We recorded a three song demo and had coffee cups made. We sent these to clubs and family mmebers as christmas present of sorts and mainly just to keep busy until we decided our future. We had moved into Kooler sound prior to this and if memory recalls me right there was actually a period where Knuckles wasn't with us but Creeper was and then Knuckles was back and Creeper was gone. I'm a little fuzzy on this but that's pretty close. Anyway Knuckles eventually left again and a new lineup would come.

1999

Bakko, Shaggz, Creeper, Knuckles

After Garrett, auditions were held for a replacement. We chose Creeper because he just smoked at leads and seemed to pick up the songs pretty quick. The second turned out to not be so accurate. He never rememberred the songs. Never. Every practice he would re-learn them. From my perspective his brain was fried by this point. He was an admitted heavy drug user in his younger days. I should point out that he was a fatehr and hisband and had put his drug use behind him from what I saw. He must of seen the end coming as he quit on the day we were going to fire him. He said he was moving back to Detroit. But a few months later ole Creeper was seen singing lead for another local band. Not much else is known. A father of three as well as being married he definately has a full plate. Although he wasn't a good fit for the band things were ended on as good of a note as possible.

1998-1999

Bakko, Shaggz, Knuckles, Garrett

The Original garage/party band. I had been friends with Garrett since they were kids and I went to high school in Owatonna with Shaggz. Garrett was the middle man in this deal. Going by the name Bloody Bedsheets at this time, we originally started as a three piece but soon after Knuckles joined. Playing mostly parties during this time. It was here that the ground work for much of the material that would end up on the CD's was put together. The first year was spent mostly practicing in Medford. We didn't become serious about playing until we set up shop in the Twin Cities. Also it was the start of over six years of playing together for me and Shaggz. Ultimately Garrett became a bigger problem than an asset. This combined with his unwillingness to move the bands operations to the Twin Cities pushed us to make a change. There frankly hasn't been a hole lot of contact with Garrett since then. It's no secret that things didn't end amicably with Garrett. I don't think the details are important any longer and to be fair I'm pretty sure he has a different side to this story. He was a good friend for a long time and unfortunately things like this have to happen some times to make you realize certain truths. He is still known to be living in Medford and I truly wish him the best.
